Ricin: A Real Bio-Threat and How to Detect It

Federal Resources published an article titled “Ricin – A Homemade Bio-Threat”. The article listed many of ricin attacks in the US and overseas from as early as 1978. One of the risk for detection is the potential of getting the sample suspected of containing ricin, such as powders, becomes airborne and enters a person’s airway. The article provided details on personal protection equipment needed and how to handle samples and detections safely. As the only handheld tool available, ANP Technologies’ NIDS 3000 is the prominent tool that can detect a broad range of bio-threats including ricin rapidly providing an essential first line of defense against these real threats.
